Alleen (Clymer) Krewatch, age 81, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE.

Born on July 21, 1944, in Wilmington, DE, Alleen was the daughter of the late John Edward Clymer and the late Carrie Elizabeth (Reynolds) Clymer. She was a proud graduate of William Penn High School in New Castle, DE, where she was a spirited cheerleader.

A devoted mother and hard worker, Alleen supported her family as a single parent, often working two jobs—one taping cars for Earl Scheib and another at the 7-Eleven in New Castle. Her career later included time with Atlantic Aviation and the U.S. Postal Service in New Castle. After relocating to Sussex County in the 1990s, Alleen briefly returned to postal work before becoming an administrative assistant and bookkeeper at Melson Funeral Services, where she served faithfully for 19 years until her retirement in 2017.

Alleen was an avid reader and a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially during her beloved Sunday dinners. Known for her no-nonsense attitude and her colorful language, Alleen brought laughter, strength, and honesty to everyone around her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Evelyn Clymer; her husband, William V. Krewatch, Jr.; a son, Jonathan R. Krewatch; three brothers, Thomas E. Whaley, David J. Whaley, John E. Clymer, Jr.; a sister, Shirley A. Nolan and a sister-in-law, Jeannine Todd.  Alleen is survived by her four sons, Charles M. Hatton, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen of Pike Creek, DE, Douglas E. Hatton of Florida, Shawn P. Hatton and his wife, Vicky of Millsboro, DE and William "Trippe" V. Krewatch, III of Hockessin, DE; five grandchildren, Cory Hatton, Cole Hatton and his wife, Noelle, John Hatton, Matthew Hatton and his wife, Sophie and Nicholas Hatton and three great grandchildren, Colton Hatton, Adelyn Hatton and Walker Hatton.  She is also survived by two sisters, Ina R. Morton and her husband, Jerry of Ocean View, DE and Jill E. McCorkle and her husband, Robin of Wilmington, DE; a sister-in-law, Lois Donahue and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 3-4 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 4 PM.  Interment will be held privately at the Glebe Cemetery in New Castle, DE.
